Jr. Bills Complete the Best Regular Season in School History!

The Jr. Bills finished the season with a convincing 8-1 victory over Chaminade.  This win made the 2017-18 Jr. Bills the proud owner of the best regular season record in school history at 20-1-0.    For the season the Jr. Bills outscored their opponents 134 to 17.   The Jr. Bills outshot their opponents 791 to 303.

The motto of the team has been “30 Man Roster.”   With over 130 games missed by the normal 20 man varsity roster, the team's depth was severely tested.   In short, the Jr. Bills averaged over 6 players from their 20 man roster missing in each game.  The Jr. Bills played 9 games with 10 or more missing players, winning 8 of those games.

Head Coach Jack Behan commented:  “What our 30 players accomplished in the regular season is nothing short of miraculous.   Each player on the 30 man roster truly contributed to the success of this season.  I’ve never seen a group so determined and proud to play for their school.  Their effort each and every game was unbelievable.   This is a very special group.  I’m honored to be a part of it.”

The Jr. Bills seem poised for the playoffs, which begin in early February.   Behan continued: This group has a very motivated senior class.  In fact, the entire roster has such a determination to make these seniors’ last year at St. Louis University High a season to remember - we can’t wait for the playoffs to begin.”

The Jr. Bills would find the back of the net midway through the second period as Chip Holmes ('18) scored his 8th goal of the year. The kids played well and battled through a physical and emotional game."
